The Williams sisters have been one of the biggest names on the WTA tour for over two decades now. Both Serena and Venus have records that will serve as a benchmark of greatness. With the 23-time Grand Slam champion back on the courts, a variety of questions were recently posed by fans to the elder of the two Williams sisters.

As Venus walked out of the circuit around the same time as her sister, her absence in the current grass swing has harbored doubts. One of which is, will we ever see her alongside Serena in doubles?

Venus Williams about playing doubles with her sister

Williams is very active on social media, especially on the official account of her clothing line. Recently, while doing a Q and A session, she stumbled upon the question, “Would you and Serena ever play doubles together again? ” To which she jokingly responded, “Well, I know that Serena has a doubles partner. So I hope that she will consider playing with me. ”

Serena recently took part in doubles at Eastbourne International alongside Ons Jabeur. They made it up to the semifinals. However, an unfortunate knee injury to Jabeur caused an abrupt end to their run.

Further, speaking of Venus and Serena’s pair. The former world No.1s have 22 doubles titles together, out of which 14 are Grand Slam titles and 3 are Olympic gold medals. Also, the Williams sisters have held the ranking of World No.1 in doubles.

Venus agianst Serena

The seven-time Grand Slam champion has faced her younger sister 31 times up till now and trails behind in the head-to-head score by 12-19. Further, they last fought for a title in 2017 in the hard courts of the Australian Open. There Serena got the better of Venus in straight sets of 6-4, 6-4.

In addition, the 42-year-old has won 49 singles and 22 doubles titles and was World No.1 for a total of 11 weeks. Given Serena has 73 singles and 23 doubles titles under her name and held the ranking of World No.1 for 319 weeks.
