Giving herself a slight break after the hectic schedule, yesterday, Osaka finally opted to watch the movie ‘King Richard’. Watching the fascinating life story of Richard Williams, Naomi took to her Instagram to give her take on the movie. In her take, the Japanese star was in awe of the Williams sisters and their achievements.

Naomi Osaka goes all heart for the Williams sisters

The mighty aura of Venus Williams and Serena Williams remains unmatched by any other player to date. The two have not only won tournaments but have ruled the sport for decades. A glimpse of their unmatchable greatness is shown towards the end of the movie. ‘King Richard’, which is primarily based on the life of their father Richard Williams, shows real-life clips of the sisters in their younger days and in their biggest tournaments.

Watching the movie, Osaka took to her Instagram to upload a story. In the story, the 24-year-old expressed her love for the movie, asserting that she started bawling at the end of the movie. Recalling the achievements of the Williams sisters and the steps taken by them for women’s tennis, Osaka addressed the two as ‘legendary queens’.

The story read, “Just finished watching King Richard. The way I started bawling at the end when they started showing real life clips of Venus and Serena when they were young and then at Wimbledon and other tournaments. They really did that. All the people they inspired and the doors they opened, legendary queens. ”

King Richard receives high critical acclaim

King Richard is a movie based on the life of Richard Williams, the father and long-time coach of the Williams sisters.
